Maybe she won because she'd put more hours in field service this year than her sister.

Well I've found it too.
Sunday 14th July 2002. and repeated again on the 18th July. A 40 minute Panorama programme about the Jehovahs Witnesses and their policy of shielding paedophiles from prosecution.
Does anyone have the viewing figures for this programme ?
This is from the BBC's website about Panorama:
For nearly fifty years, Panorama has been scrutinising the use and abuse of power and making hard-hitting and thought provoking television. The programme has a distinguished history.
It is the BBC's flagship current affairs programme and the longest-running public affairs TV programme in the world.
Panorama's job is to investigate and uncover stories about Britain and the world. The range of stories that the programme covers is wide but the guiding principles for Panorama are always the same:
- To make programmes with authority which make waves and withstand scrutiny.
- To report the world we live in with a depth of understanding often missing in many other programmes.
- To scrutinise the use and abuse of power, both public and private.
- To get to stories first.
- To make the stories we tell relevant, accessible and engaging for the audience.
- To treat fairly the people with whom we deal.
They kept this one quiet!

Is this the same David Icke who was once a sports commentator and then went nuts.
I remember him once on live British TV prophecying that Cuba would 'disappear'. I think it was the Wogan show. I think he also proclaimed himself to be the messiah.
After several years of silence he recently reappeared with his claims that many world leaders were in fact reptilian alien beings. He's published several books on this subject.
Looks like he's moved on to religion and the illuminati.

The BEST things about the USA
by OUTLAW inwe`ve seen some pretty mean usa bashing.so it`s time for a new thread about the good things in the usa..first off they got coors beer,a dam fine beer i must say.disineyland, what kid dosen`t want to go to disineyland?been there more than a few times and i intend to go again.tex-mex food,i`ll be dammed if i can get a decent enchilada this side of the border.the oregon coast with the giant red wood forest,a beautiful drive on a holiday.the humungas servings when you go to a usa restaraunt, especialy the steakhouse`s.so if you live in the usa,or go for a visit like i do,what are the things you enjoy in the usa?...outlaw edited by - outlaw on 2 july 2002 20:25:30.

My surreal district convention
by RunningMan inwell, i just got back from yet another summer ass-marathon.
seventeen hours of sitting in hockey arena seats that were made for three hour games, trying to stay awake, while not losing contact with my extremities.. needless to say, the program was dull and boring.
in fact, i'm not completely sure that they didnt just re-run last year's.

Running man - VERY VERY FUNNY INDEED.
I loved the idea of holding up a sign every time Matt 24:14 is mentioned. Maybe you could ring a bell at the same time.

What do Americans actually really know about???
by invisible inwhat do americans in general actually really know about the big outside world outside of their own culture?.
it's certainly not just me, but for years since early childhood in fact, it has been commonly accepted by many, that americans in general are the biggest ignorant fools residing almost anywhere on the planet, yet they still do their damndest to have everyone believe what a great nation they are.
is it even beyond their comprehension how foolish they look often to the rest of the world, the fact that they have so little understanding of problems on the worldwide front?.

Great points Double Edge, especially about the reparation demands on Germany. That must rank as one of the great mistakes of the 20th century.

Francois,
Was he the American pilot in the film "Pearl Harbour" who won the Battle of Britain all on his own?
You're right about Chamberlain though - a complete fool. But thank you for pointing out to me that Britain joined the war on December 7th 1941.
The point is I'm very grateful for what America did during the war. I like Americans. I think most of the British people do too. I think the media is to blame for most pre-conceptions.

Francois :
"If not for America, you would certainly be speaking German right now, you ungrateful ass."
Bullshit.
Where were the Americans at the Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Kursk, El Alamein, Sinking of the Bismarck, Defence of Singapore and Burma ??
Don't forget the British and Russians had been fighting the Germans and Japanese for 3 years before the US joined in.
I get the impression that some people on this board think the US won WWII all on its own.
And I do like Americans !
